The November District Meeting will be held November 17th at Anzio Landing, 2713 N Thunderbird Circle, Mesa 85215. PC training at 6:00, meet and greet 6:30, and meeting will start at 7:00. Speakers are Brad Zinn and AZ GOP Chair Tom Morrissey.

Brad Zinn co-chairs Verify The Vote, Arizona Elections Task Force in Arizona. The task force helped introduce and back legislation in this year’s session, and is now partnering with True The Vote in Houston to provide poll worker and poll watcher training.. Mr. Zinn also serves on the Board of Advisors of www.AnyStreet.org , and www.ArizonaMainstreamProject.org , as well as being a freelance reporter for www.WesternFreePress.com

Tom Morrissey is the current chairman of the Arizona State Republican Party.

  1. Chairman Wayne Gardner has asked to be excused and is unable to be with us tonight and he has asked me, the first Vice-Chair to conduct this evening’s meeting.
  2. Reminder of PC training at 6:00 prior to our district meetings. All are welcome to attend.
  3. The Chair has not received any requests for resolutions or other official matters to come before the body this evening and so none will be considered at this meeting by the Chair. Further a quorum of 25% of the elected PCs is not present nor has any request been made with at least ten’s notice.
  4. This evening’s Parliamentarian is Rex Griswold.

May – Special Meeting May 19th

As you are aware, the elected PCs in our district have the unique opportunity to participate in an election tomorrow, Thursday, May 19th, 2011, to fill the Arizona House of Representatives vacancy in our Legislative District.  In order to expedite the proceedings of that night, we need to begin the credentialing process at 6:30pm.

Please report to the Mesquite Room (MCC/RedMountain Campus, 7110 E. McKellips Road, Mesa, Arizona) at 6:30pm, with your photo ID, so that our meeting may begin at 7:00pm.

To All Precinct Committeemen,
The Legislative District 19 Special election will be held Thursday, April 21st from 7:00-8:30PM to replace three positions on the District Board:  Two 3rd Vice Chairs and Correspondence Secretary.  Please attend in person and cast your vote.  If you are unable to attend, please make arrangements to have someone carry your proxy vote (link below to downloadable proxy).

March – Chairman’s Message and Monthly Meeting Information

We are excited to have Dr. Byron Schlomach , Director of the Center for Economic Prosperity at the Goldwater Institute, be the guest speaker at the up coming district 19 meeting. The meeting will be held March 17th, in the Mesquite Bldg. Community Room (M200), MCC Red Mountain Campus, 7110 E. McKellips Rd, at 7:00 pm. Mix and mingle will begin at 6:30.

As Director of the Center for Economic Prosperity at the Goldwater Institute, Dr. Byron Schlomach publishes in-depth research on Economic issues facing Arizona. He has 15 years of experience working in and around state government. His primary focus is on tax and spending policy, but he also publishes research on transportation, health care, and education policy. Byron’s writings have appeared in National Review Online, Business Week online and numerous Texas and Arizona newspapers. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

***Attention Meeting Change***
Due to conflicts in our meeting room the LD19 District meeting will be February 10, 2011. (This is the 2nd Thursday.)

*** We are excited to have Kevin McCarthy, President of the Arizona Tax Research Association be the guest speaker at the up coming district 19 meeting. The meeting will be held in the Mesquite Bldg. Community Room (M200), MCC Red Mountain Campus, 7110 E. McKellips Rd,  at 7:00 pm. Mix and mingle will begin at 6:30.
Kevin McCarthy is the President of ATRA (Arizona Tax Research Association).  ATRA is the “watchdog” of Arizona Taxpayers and is the only statewide taxpayer organization representing a cross section of Arizona individuals and businesses.   Mr. McCarthy has served ATRA since 1986. As a recognized expert in the public finance and taxation field, he has extensive experience representing taxpayers before policy makers at the state and local level. He has been appointed to and served on numerous legislative and executive committees. He currently serves on the Property Tax Oversight Commission, Joint Legislative Committee on Property Tax, and the Arizona State Retirement System Board.

*** It’s a new year again and with it comes the pressure of paying your taxes. To help us better understand the process we have invited Steve Voeller of the Arizona Free Enterprise Club.  He is the former Chief of Staff for Jeff Flake. The meeting will be held at MCC Red Mountain Campus, 7110 E. McKellips Rd, in the outdoor Courtyard at 7:00 pm. Mix and mingle will begin at 6:30.  Dress warm!

***The Maricopa Republican Mandatory Meeting for all PC’s in the county is Saturday, January 8th. Registration will begin at 8:00 am at El Zaribah Shrine, 552 N. 40th St. Phoenix, AZ. Please make every effort to make it to this important meeting. If you can not make the meeting please prepare and send your proxy with someone in your precinct.

***The State Republican Mandatory Meeting for all State Committeemen is Saturday January 22, Registration will begin at7:30 am at Church for the Nations, 11640 North 19th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85029. This is a very important meeting!! All SC must make every effort to attend this meeting as well. Click here for Map and Directions.

*** The LD19 Board meets every Tuesday following the District Meeting each month. You are invited to attend this meeting or send your comments or questions with Chairman Wayne Gardner or any board member anytime.
